CONGRATULATIONS!

What a busy weekend! We had families traveling three hours across the mountains, to attend the Washington State DI Competition in Wenatchee. We had families packing up tri-folds and science experiments to take down to Pacific Lutheran University for the South Sound Regional Science Fair 2010. And what success stories did they return with:

South Sound Regional Science Fair 2010

A student received third place in the Kindergarten competition for his project titled “Earthworm Dig.” He also received the “Take a Closer Look” award because his project demonstrated “in-depth observational skills, natural curiosity and wondering about the world.”

Another student won an honorable mention in the 5th grade competition for his project titled “Shooting Accuracy.” He also received the “Safety First Award” for the most safety conscious project.

A third student won an honorable mention in the 1st grade competition for her project titled ”Reaction Time.”

There were around 570 science fair participants from over 80 schools this year. There were 126 participants in the 5th grade category alone! Way to go all of you Scientists!

Destination Imagination State Competition

Three Seabury teams competed against other teams from our state: Do Or DI, DI Breaking News and DIBot.

DIBot came in 2nd place and will traveling to Tennessee over the Memorial Day weekend to compete in the DI Global Competition. Congratulations!

Let’s help our DIBot team get to Tennessee by supporting their fundraising efforts this spring! We will let you know when we have more information.
